Founded in 1871, the University of ¹û¶³´«Ã½app, Fayetteville, is the flagship institution of the University of ¹û¶³´«Ã½app System. Located in Fayetteville, ¹û¶³´«Ã½appF is the state’s foremost partner, resource and catalyst for education and economic development.

Founded as Little Rock Junior College in 1926, the University of ¹û¶³´«Ã½app at Little Rock (¹û¶³´«Ã½appLR) is ¹û¶³´«Ã½app’s premier metropolitan university. ¹û¶³´«Ã½appLR is committed to responding to the needs of the community by creating active links between the campus, community and commerce.

 

The University of ¹û¶³´«Ã½app for Medical Sciences in Little Rock is the only academic health sciences university in the state of ¹û¶³´«Ã½app. It is the state’s largest public employer with more than 10,000 employees in 73 of the state’s 75 counties.

Founded in 1909 as the Fourth District Agricultural School, the University of ¹û¶³´«Ã½app at Monticello (¹û¶³´«Ã½appM) is one of the region’s few remaining open admissions universities.

An 1890 land-grant institution, the University of ¹û¶³´«Ã½app at Pine Bluff (¹û¶³´«Ã½appPB) is the second-oldest public university and the only public historically black institution in ¹û¶³´«Ã½app.

Upon joining the ¹û¶³´«Ã½app System in 2002, the University of ¹û¶³´«Ã½app at Fort Smith (¹û¶³´«Ã½appFS) began transitioning from a two-year college to a four-year university

Founded in 1951, Grantham University developed as part of the traditional college and university movement of the late 20th century with a main campus in Southern California. As interest in Grantham’s degree programs grew beyond campus boundaries, the college developed distance education programs to serve a geographically dispersed student body. Since 2000, Grantham began offering degree programs exclusively online and in late 2021, Grantham University joined the University of ¹û¶³´«Ã½app System and officially became the University of ¹û¶³´«Ã½app Grantham.
